Hello, and welcome to our latest outpost on the intra super webby highway thing.
I’m really excited about the launch of MerrieTech. I’ve been very lucky to have the equivalent of a resident IT Director as I’ve navigated MerrieGroup and MerrieMarketing out there on the Internet.
I know from talking to many of you that you don’t have your own IT expert on hand. Well, why not borrow mine?
I’ve convinced Peter to provide content related to technical matters. This content is very different to the marketing and business based content we usually provide and so we decided it needed its own site.
Welcome to MerrieTech.
OK, something worth being clear about up-
This doesn’t mean we dislike Apple Mac’s or Linux based PC’s. It’s just that most of our experience and working life has been based around Windows based PC’s.
Kim spent a lot of her time in the marketing industry surrounded by people who would never be parted from their Mac’s and is very comfortable with and understands the power and ease of use that these machines possess.

However, when it comes to desktop/laptops we have both primarily worked on and with DOS or Windows based PC’s. Peter mutters on about something called CP/M as well as a few other things that I’m sure no one needs to know about!
So, put simply we use Windows based PC’s because that’s what we know and are comfortable with. It follows therefore that when we have a technical challenge we tend to need, want, look for a Windows based solution.
We have nothing against Mac’s and Linux based PC’s, we just don’t know enough about
them to offer any useful advice, so we won’t. We are not die-
